(As posted in Koi Shows UK)
2011 saw the Potteries and District Koi Club hold their last show, problems with venues sadly resulted in the 2012 show being cancelled and an inability to stage in 2013 and 2014, where as, down the road, the Birmingham and West Midlands Koi Show has gone from strength to strength with a stable number of vats and koi being on display at their indoor garden centre venue.
For 2015 the two clubs have decided to come together and hold one, larger, show at the traditional indoor Birmingham West Midlands venue. This seems to be a very logical way forward as it allows the Potteries club a way back into the show scene and a ‘home’ show for their members to compete at whilst the additional man power that a combined show brings will obviously be of benefit of everyone.
Tony Barker from the Birmingham & West Midlands Koi Club said today (13/02/2015):
The show will take place over the weekend of the 3/4th October at Highdown Nurseries, Stourbridge, West Midlands DY10 3PA and will be staged with our friends from the Potteries section, this should make it the biggest show staged at the venue to date and should see us present upwards of 25 vats of koi.
Being the last show of the season this has always been a very friendly show and a great way to end the season, we’re sure this year will be no different and we’re looking forward to the best cake stand on the show calendar getting even better!!
